This year the Galloway's celtic/roots/world music festival returns to the hills of Scotland's Southern Uplands as a four day event from Thursday 23rd until Sunday 26th May 2013.

The festival held at Knockengorroch farm, Carsphairn, Kirkubrightshire, in Scotland will feature musicians from around the world heading for the far flung location.

Line-up

The first acts confirmed are Asian Dub Foundation, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, Breabach, Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, Luke Vibert, Congo Natty & Tenor Fly, Slamboree, Headmix Collective, The Correspondents, Federation of The Disco Pimp, The Old Dance School, Sheelanagig, Vibronics, Mungo's Hi Fi Sound System, The Bevvy Sisters, Geata Krar Collective, Freddy Frogs, Morphamish, The Mezzanine Allstars, Samedia Shebeen, Awry, and Girobabies, with many more still to be announced.

Other entertainment

Plus dancers, authors and workshop leaders to be announced. The programme will also include a silent disco; a Celtic fire show spectacular, cabaret, comedy, silent disco, cocktails, real ale, global food, stalls, camping, dance, heritage and arts workshops, a healing area, session villages, open fires, star gazing, showers, and more. There is family and disabled camping also available. For children, the Kids' Marquee runs creative activities, culminating in a childrens' procession.

Bo Airigh

The main stage, the Bo Airigh, is named after the sacred cattle that were once worshipped in the valley, the Shieling dance tent is another reference to the land's prior use and the Celtic longhouse, once a common site in the hills, is revived again with rousing fiddles, sitar and kora.

An early bird adult ticket is priced at £92 for 4 days, £77 for 3 days; Children tickets (11-15 years) are priced at £47 for 4 days, £39 for 3 days. Vehicle passes: (up to 1 tonne) £15, vehicle pass (1-3 Tonnes) £20 (including caravans towed by car/van), vehicle pass (over 3 Tonnes) £25.
