Now in its seventh year, the wholly independent Kendal Calling is held in the Lake District, over the weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July returning to the Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe, in East Cumbria.

Line-up

Friday night will be headed up by Maximo Park, Saturday night will see the return to Kendal Calling of Dizzee Rascal, and Sunday night will be closed by James. Also confirmed are Shy FX, Benga, Andy C, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Feeder, Little Roy, Shed Seven, Jack Beats (DJ set), Dodgy, Inspiral Carpets, Utah Saints, Ms Dynamite, Vintage Trouble, Dreadzone, Twisted Wheel, 16bit, A Skillz, Phaeleh, Various Cruelties, To Kill A King, Dub Pistols (DJ Set), Juan Zelada, The Lancashire Hotpots, The Correspondents, Craig Charles, Cut A Shine, Dizraeli And The Small Gods, Hidden Orchestra, King Porter Stomp, Lazy Habits, Louis Barabbas & The Bedlam Six, Slamboree, The Monster Ceilidh Band, Yes Sir Boss, Olugbenga (Metronomy DJ Set), Bombskare, and more.

On site

Festival goers can expect eleven stages including the Main Stage, Glow Dance tent, Kaylied World Music Stage, Calling Out New Music Stage, Soapbox Comedy, Village Green, Houseparty, and more stages to be announced.

Tickets

Tickets sold out in the middle of June. An adult weekend ticket was priced at £105, a child (11-14 years) weekend ticket were priced at £50, and children under 11 can attend for free, but needed a ticket. Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday early bird tickets was priced at £10 (only valid with a full weekend ticket).

Traditional festival camping is at no extra cost and included in ticket price. There was also the new and improved Emperors Fields camping on offer which has now sold out, but there is still yurts and tipis accommodation in the Deer Lodge available.

Early entry Thursday

This year Kendal Calling will be opening up the campsite a day early. Please note this will include camping only plus the Village Green area, where a limited number of food outlets will be open plus an acoustic tent.

Fancy dress theme

This year Kendal Calling unveil that the fancy dress theme will be Fairy Tales & Comic Books, a magical all encompassing theme that will see the site transform on Saturday. The fancy dress theme has been a huge success in previous years with revellers showing incredible innovation and imagination in designing and donning costumes, and the whole festival following the theme.

Kids Area

For big kids and little ones alike, enjoy workshops on percussion making and music, movement and mask making, plus story telling and creative writing along with an array of games and activities running all weekend.

Family camping

For festival-goers bringing little ones, Kendal Calling has the all-new Emperors field. A camping area located in a quiet field away from the main campsite, near the main arena and offer a special pass to camp next to your car (available for £10). Set near the campervan field, the quiet family camping will have its own toilet facilities including showers & even a baby changing unit.

Tim Peaks Diner

Kendal Calling are also unveiling a new Twin Peaks style 50's diner headed up by Tim Burgess from The Charlatans aptly titled the 'Tim Peaks Diner'. The venue was borne from twitter and on BBC6music, as Tim pours over the jukebox and coffee he will curate a weekend of DJs, bands, book readings and comedians in a unique setting.
