Kaya the world music festival for 5,000 set overlooking the Snowdonia National Park in the picturesque grounds of the Vaynol Estate near Bangor, North Wales returns for a second year, and will take place over the Bank holiday weekend, on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2013.

Kaya offers an assortment of African, Jamaican, Caribbean and world musical flavours along with a diverse range of workshops, food stalls and festival activities.

Line-up

Afrika Bambaataa headline, with Soweto Kinch, Mad Professor (DJ Set), Dub Pistols, Finley Quaye, Celloman, The Selector And Pauline Black, Thabani Band, Joe Driscoll And Sekou, Howard Marks, Batch Gueye, Drymbago, Trojan Selector DJs, Legend, Venus Bushfire, Domingo Candelario, Batala Bangor, Talisman, Captain Accident, and Oi Brasil!.

Stages will host live music, cabaret, spoken word, acoustic live music, comedy, and more.

Weekend campers will be able to arrive on Friday 24th May and there will be entertainment featuring 'The Best Of Wales' – local and national Welsh talent in a small venue on site before the festival opens officially on the 25th.

Tickets

The early bird offer has ended. A weekend camping ticket is priced at £60. Concessions and teens (14-17) tickets are priced at £55. There are no age restrictions for those attending the Kaya festival, but anyone under-16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or older. Children (0-14) get free entry but will still need a ticket. A campervan ticket is priced at £30, and a day car park pass is priced at £7. To buy tickets, click here.

Camping

Because of the fire risk, no open fires or tin foil barbecues are allowed on site. However, camping stoves or barbecues on legs may be used. No glass bottles are allowed on any part of the festival site, including the camping areas.

Fancy dress

Skaya Dub Sunday's fancy dress theme is 'ska, mods, and clogs'.

Food and drink

Food and drink will be sourced from local producers, expect a very Welsh twist!

Charities

Kaya Festival is sponsoring two charities for this year's festival, the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research for Wales Charity, and SOS Children's Village.

Local area

A short walk offsite is one of Anglesey's popular beaches Church bay, also known as Porth Swtan. Further afield and a short drive over the Menai straits is the Snowdonia National Park.
