Another flavour of the month band appearing in a slot often occupied by long term favourites. The crowd haven’t moved since The Proclaimers left the stage and it’s heat haze and sun lotion for Brighton’s new boys making an assault on the charts The Kooks. Sounding not dissimilar to Cast they being us a sunny brand of guitar pop and could be looking to take over from Supergrass with their happy little tunes.

The crowd like opener ‘Seaside’ and lead singer Luke Pritchard looks rather like Bob Dylan with his floppy hair and acoustic guitar. Their new song ‘Loopy Lou Lou’ is also well received and still has a pleasant summer sound. ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’ is also agreeable in the sunshine but I do wonder if they have any longevity. The current flavour of the month track ‘Naïve’ raises a huge cheer. There’s no doubt their debut album ‘Inside In/Inside Out’ could become part of the soundtrack of the summer of 2006.

Whether they are a big enough band to deserve this slot (5pm on Saturday) is doubtful to me.
