Introduced by Kate Moss who snogs Bobby as he ambles onto the stage with Primal Scream, ‘Movin’ On Up’ is a huge tune to start with and has the lobster coloured crowd singing and dancing in unison. The crowd is awash with flags and even a dancing bear.

Bobbie Gillespie bizarrely welcomes us to the Isle of Man (or should that be Mani?) before flinging himself into ‘Jailbird’ and it kind of fizzles for a bit but despite Mani’s exertions on the basslines it’s a little pedestrian, fans of the band are clearly lovin’ it regardless but they only hold half of the crowd and the rest break into chat and their own entertainment.

Personally I like the funky groove bluesy thing they‘ve got going on stage, but it seems not all the crowd are fans. That is until they play their new single, that’s right, the band are close on twenty years old who play a string of hits, get the biggest response for ‘Country Girl’ an impressive feat for a veteran group. It’s a huge crowd raiser and from then on tunes like ‘Get Your Rocks Off’ has a lot of the field dancing.

They might be slightly flawed live, but Primal Scream are still right on musical form with their latest tune getting the loudest roar. An impressive display from a band who by now must be floating a few millimetres off the earth after twenty years of getting ‘Loaded!’
