THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Wickham Easter Festival has been cancelled.

A statement on the festival's website says:
"Easter Festival Postponed
Now part of a bigger and better
Wickham Summer Festival

The Wickham Easter Festival due to take place between 5th and 8th April is being postponed. It will now be staged as part of the Wickham Summer Festival between 2nd and 5th August.

The reasons for this are:

i) Many of our normal Easter audience are travelling to the Royal Albert Hall on Easter Saturday to see the hugely popular Show of Hands perform there (Show of Hands usually headline our Easter Festival)

ii) The loss of a large part of our normal audience has meant it would not be viable to stage our Easter Festival in our usual way at our usual venue

iii) We did attempt to stage a smaller Easter Festival at Wickham but the line-up for our main Summer Festival at Wickham in August is so strong that, in the present economic climate, many people have decided just to buy tickets for our Summer Festival in August rather than buy for both events.

iv) By merging both our Easter and Summer Festivals into one much bigger and better event we can ensure that all who purchase tickets for our Summer Festival can now see artists originally booked for Easter as well as those already announced for the Summer.

v) Those of our normal Easter audience who are travelling to see Show of Hands at the Albert Hall on Easter Saturday can now see our Easter Festival artists appear at our Summer Festival alongside Show of Hands who are confirmed as one of our Summer Festival headliners.

People who had already purchased tickets for both the Easter & Summer Festivals will receive a full refund for Easter as will anyone who cannot attend in the Summer.
