Now word reaches me that cos I'm a fan of country acts I should have seen Corb Lund playing solo for the folks at the Pyramid Stage. I'm not one to ignore advice, so I brave the weather and done my waterproof poncho to wander back up to the Avalon tent to give the Canadian singer the once over.

And I tell you partner I'm mighty glad I did, and helped a lost country boy find his way there too along the way. Now the tent wasn't all that busy, as the band took to the stage, but the songs were there to soothe us, even if most of them appeared to be about horses.

One song in particular stood out amongst the slide guitar and heartfelt tunes, an acapella song about a war veteran, which stirred up deep emotions about Nicaragua, killin’ and America’s bloody secret history and it crowned a wonderful performance. Follow that with a song about trucks getting stuck in the mud and surround us with more sweet guitar chords and dang it if we all weren't as happy as Eavis' cows come milking time!

I gotta get me a copy of his album ‘Hair In My Eyes Like A Highland Steer’ as this was perfect Sunday afternoon balm for all us worn cowboys who'd been out in the mud following those muddy trails all week! It was music to put peace in my soul, gave me a chance to take my spurs off and relax in a hot tub of glorious finger picking and listen to some mighty nice tunes!
