'Freedom' is a FREE music and live arts festival, taking place in Hull city centre from the evening of Friday 6th until Sunday 8th September 2013.

Line-up

The family-friendly programme includes a number of renowned music, comedy, dance and street theatre acts, in keeping with the Festival's overall ethos.

This year's line-up include a UK exclusive from French outdoor arts act Transe Express plus an opening night event featuring a large-scale torchlight procession and a live set of the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show. 

Also confirmed are The 1975, Akala, Pappy’s, Lemn Sissay, Shooglenifty, The
Black Eagles, Lucy Beaumont, Empirical, Dan Croll, Sam Gray, Theme Park, Blackbeard’s Tea Party, Big Howard Little Howard, and Jonny Awsum.

The event also hosts Ziggy, an exhibition of Ziggy Stardust photographs and fan memorabilia from the 1970s, featuring Hullborn music legend Mick Ronson. Plus BalletLORENT, romantic comedy Jumpers for Goalposts, 2Faced Dance, Paper Cinema's Odyssey to Freedom, Polarbear's Mouth Open Story Jump Out, Tristan Manco, and a Sand Writer on Humber Street, creating displays amongst the crowds.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
