The 9th annual Free Folkfest in Burnham-on-Sea will take place from Thursday 28th until Sunday 31st August 2014.
This is an acoustic folk festival, with free activities in pubs around the town centre with over 90 acts, dancers, workshops, exhibitions, market, refreshments, kids' entertainment at various venues throughout Burnham-on-Sea. All free.
Latest additions are Blind Chris Elswood & The Broomdusters, Andrew Romoff,, Bouncing Biscuit, Bright'n'High, Bruce Hudson, Carpe Uke, Cross Border, Curly & Al, Daft Folk, Dan Plews, Driftwood, Ed K-T, Jason Grey & Emma Horton, Jon Dyer & Alfie Gidley, LightGarden, Rob Carey, Rosie Eade, Simon Arlidge, Six Machine, Sofia Heath, Steve Brown, Steve James, Surfin' Turnips, The Bara Bara Band, The Slow Way, Tim Fardon,, The Vagrants Crew, and Vermin.
The first acts confirmed were RSVP who headline Folkfest Sunday in the Park, and Inc.A who headline the Princess Stage. Also confirmed are Fromage En Feu, Bill Smarme & The Bizness, The Drystones, The Ceili, Combyne Arvester, The Merry Looters, MOD, The Schmoozenbergs, Brad McEwen, Higher Beings, Jim Crawford, Laura Victoria, Threadbare Ravens, In The Milkwood, Martin Hughes, Benita Johnson, Helen Nicholson, The Winkers, Rustique, Sun Dog Days, Andrew's Half Sister, Sam Patten, Taylor Topham, Nick Elswood, Debbie Beckett, and Emily Elswood
The Urban Folk Quartet for this year's Friday Concert at the Princess Theatre (this event is ticketed with a price of £10 for the Friday Night Concert tickets on sale soon from the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in Burnham-on-Sea.
