Ethos

The aim behind the festival is to provide a 4 day celebration of music, dance, culture and community built on an ecologically sound and carbon friendly set of principles, exhibiting live music alongside decorations and surroundings.

Theme

Eden Festival will be going back in time, into a land of dragons and dreams, with this years fancy dress theme Myth’s and Legends.

Kidz Arena

The themed children's arena will have workshops for children and much more. The Forest Skills team will be leading woodland crafts and bushcraft skills, including campfire cooking and herb walks, and making jewellery, nature art and willow crafts.

The Kidz Arena will take you to middle earth and beyond, to a world full of serpents, dragons, elves and fairies. The area will be awash with colour, beautiful giant flora, and other mythical creatures. Most of the craft workshops will follow the same theme and children will be able to make their own elfish flags, creature masks, carnival birds and time travelling backpacks, culminating in a festival parade across the site on Sunday afternoon.

There’s so many workshops to keep them occupied with the craft marquee, forest skills tipi, little ones dome, arts yurt, and a story telling and a puppetry marquee. If that wasn’t enough to keep them entertained they can learn new skills such as circus tricks, carpentry, stone masonry, ironmongery and more. Plus they can take part in the dance offs, the annual paint fight, be motivated by Mr Motivator, and dazzled by the fire show and firework display.

The Toddlers Dome is also returning with books, toys and dressing up and on Saturday kids can seek out clues for the lost treasure and on Sunday the kids will claim the festival site as their own, when they make some noise on the colourful parade.

Markets

The Rheged Market will be the festival's bazaar with a multitude of stalls. Food and drink will also be situated here.

Carbon emissions from the festival will be calculated by the local Crichton Carbon Centre after the festival. The carbon will be compensated locally within Galloway with large tree plantations of a broadleaf or fruit nature. Kids from local schools will be involved in the project, which will be on-going as the trees grow and are cared for.

The Eden Festival is now organised by Galloway Arts Community Interest company, a non profit organisation run by members of the local community.

More information will be here when available.
