Eden is a new family friendly festival, located in the centre of the Ae Forest in Dumfries and Galloway and will be set across five stages from Friday 4th until Sunday 6th September 2009.

The aim behind the festival is to provide a 3 day celebration of music, dance, culture and community built on an ecologicaly sound and carbon friendly set of principles, exhibiting live music alongside decorations and surroundings.

Tickets for the festival are priced at £55. There is also a charge on the gate for vehicles: cars / motorbikes - £5, vans - £10, caravan - £15 (inc. vehicle towing caravan). Tickets for children aged 12 and under are free. To buy tickets, click here.

The open-air Devorgilla Stage is to be host underground bands of the last 20 years from Celtic, Roots, Tango, Reggae, Klezmer, Samba, Afrobeat, Folk, Balkan, Gypsy and Ska. The stage itself will be as impressive as the line-up it provides.

The Ghillie Dhu Dance Tent will be home to everything from Drum 'n' Bass to Psy-trance back to Dubstep and Breakbeat and anything in between - there will be something to suit any fan of dance music. This stage will exhibit live percussion instrumental dance music from many cultures and influences until nightfall descends.

The Fir Chillus Mousical Boutique will be exhibiting acoustic, brass, swing, soul, funk and a heavy smattering of the bazzar. The tent's unique soundsystem will be provided by Jumblesale Sounds and hosted on the back of a vintage truck.

Rabbie's Tavern will provide an auld Scottish bar to drink the local hooch with live bands playing celtic, roots, rockabilly and also have a traditional Scottish ceilidh each night.

Ossians Trunk will offer cabaret, cinema, open mic, burlesque and workshops.

Further entertainment will be provided at the Drumtroddan Performance Arena where everything from fire walking to sword swallowing will be showcased.

Children are very welcome and there will be activities and events to keep them happy at the Shelly Coat Kids Tent, which will be run by a team of dedicated and experienced staff who will ensure they are kept enthused and entertained!

The Rheged Market will be the festival's bazaar with a multitude of stalls. Food and drink will also be situated here.

Carbon emissions from the festival will be calculated by the local Crichton Carbon Centre after the festival. The carbon will be compensated locally within Galloway with large tree plantations of a broadleaf or fruit nature. Kids from local schools will be involved in the project, which will be on-going as the trees grow and are cared for.

More information will be here when available.
