The annual Fairport Convention reunion, also known as Cropredy Festival will take place from 9th - 11th August 2007.

This year, Fairport Convention celebrates its fortieth anniversary, so the festival's two themes are 'Forty Glorious Years' and emerging young acts.

As in previous years, it will be a 3 day festival, with Fairport Convention closing the festival on the Saturday, and The Richard Thompson Band on the Friday, and Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra (vocalists Lulu and Ruby Turner) on the Thursday. For the full line-up, click here.

As part of the 'Forty Glorious Years' theme, there will be a one-off special performance by Fairport Convention's 1969 line-up. Chris While will sing in place of the late Sandy Denny, joining Ashley Hutchings, Dave Mattacks, Simon Nicol, Dave Swarbrick and Richard Thompson to perform the classic Fairport album Liege & Lief in its entirety. This album was recently voted greatest folk album of all time by BBC Radio 2 listeners and last year it was awarded a gold disk.

The festival runs from 4pm - 11pm Thursday, Noon - midnight Friday and Saturday. Camp sites open 9am Thursday.

It's a very friendly festival with great ales, no sell-out out to rampant commercialism, and no huge ticket prices.
