Now in its 8th year the Cockermouth Rock Festival or 'CockRock', returns in 2012 with the dates confirmed as Friday 20th until Sunday 22nd July at Wellington Farm, Cockermouth.

Line-up

Fun Lovin' Criminals, Tinchy Stryder, and Buzzcocks, will headline, with The Subways, Doctor and the Medics, Chris Helme, Pikey Beatz, The Lottery Winners, Dub Pistols Soundsystem, Albany Down, Alex Elliott, Awol, Collision, Committed To Rock Choir, Crow Dog, Daddysmilk, Flick, Gavin Mckew, Highly Strung, House Of Three Hands, Jeramiah Ferrari, Karl Phillips & The Midnight Ramblers, Leroy Johnson & The Flicks, Mama-Sang And The Robot, Obrigado Rebel Territory, Room 101, Rossi Noise, Secure Unit, Sneaky Finch, Solway Deltas, Southgate And Leigh, Teenage Mary, The Indices, The Lights, The Stiggz, The Sun Explodes, Tin Soldiers, Vertigo, Five and Dangerous, Cat Like Thief, Colt 45, and Solway Deltas also confirmed.

Tickets

Early bird tickets have sold out. An adult weekend ticket is priced at £50, or £60 with camping. A young adult (aged 13-17) weekend ticket is priced at £40, or £45 with camping. Adult day tickets are priced at £25, a young adult day ticket is priced at £25. Children aged 12 years and under and OAP'S(Females - 60, Males - 65) can attend for free.

New for 2012

This year the site will have a revamped layout to make it even better for fans. Area's such as The Green (which was a new addition for CockRock 2011) will be developed further with more activities and entertainment for families. More new areas will be introduced to the festival this year including a new home for The Session Tent which will be expanded and developed further with more music and activities for young people. Also on the cards is a new Reggae tent ran by Cumbria's only dedicated Reggae sound system. The campsite's will also have a major revamp and big improvements are planned. There's even a new Major Stage planned but details are being kept under wraps for now.

There will be new area's for the festival including a new home for The Session Tent which is being developed in association with Young Cumbria and Aspatria Dream Scheme to include more music and activities for young people. Also on the cards is a Dance Village and a new Reggae tent ran by Cumbria's only dedicated Reggae sound system.

On site

The facilities include a quieter camping field aimed at families, as well as workshops. Expect also a professional BBQ on site, plus many stalls, food outlets, extra bars as well as many events for all the family. These include a Bouncy Castle, Rodeo Bull, Gladiator Duals and more.

Camping

Camping is usually free and held in the neighbouring field.

Charities

The festival is a non profit event set up to help raise money for two local causes, the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and The Pride of Cumbria, as well as to encourage and promote local bands and musicians.In 2011 the festival donated £4,000 Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance. In total the festival has now raised over £44,000 for charity.
