More info

The annual Cloudspotting happens in a secluded forest location in remote Lancashire. This micro music and arts festival has grown organically year and year, in which time it has developed a wider and more immersive programme of activities, pursuits and leftfield arts for families and friends to enjoy.

Entry to the Festival site is from midday on Friday and the entertainment begins from 4pm. The opening night is always eclectic musically while the Arts programme gets underway with a number of introductory sessions that encourage audience members to explore the site and get their bearings.

Cloudspotting has become a very relaxed retreat for a few hundred people. The high proportion of returning attendees has made for an intimate and extremely friendly festival.

Expect late night DJs, outdoor food court, interactive arts, music participation workshops, cinema, songs & stories stage, early years music, family & field theatre, outdoor pursuits, mountain biking, health & wellbeing, beer festival, and star spotting.

Participation

With Lancashire’s largest forest to explore – visitors may like to spend Saturday morning out and about on mountain bikes (they do bike hire!) as Gisburn Forest is a UK destination for biking with some of the best trails in the country. A whole raft of more creative pursuits will be on offer on site in ‘Cloud Cuckoo Land’.

For festival goers who like to get stuck in, there is a raft of interactive arts on offer.  Performing arts workshops include the 6-hour ‘Play-in-a-day’ session, where participants will write, act and present a stage play on the Sunday; dance workshops, from clogging to Can Can; song-writing and drumming.  Creative Arts are also in abundance with long-time partners The Bureau, Blackburn leading a programme including forest arts, photography and science-based activities.

Early Years guests and parents will also be well looked after in the ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ area throughout the weekend, designed to bring a stimulating experience to the youngest guests with a number of interactive sessions throughout the weekend, including the inspiring Rock n Learn music spots with Harriet Gore..

There will be a host of opportunities for attendees to participate in music and theatrical workshops. Theatre workshops will conclude with a woodland performance in front of an audience on the Sunday of the festival.

More information will be here when available.
