The Canterbury Sound was part of the so-called Progressive Rock movement of the late 60's and early 70's. Set in the picturesque grounds of Mount Ephraim Gardens, The Canterbury Sound Festival celebrates the rock music heritage of the area and features performances by some of its main protagonists and their fellow compatriots together with a new generation of artists who readily acknowledge the influence of the legendary "Canterbury Scene".

This year sees Hawkwind, Porcupine Tree, Caravan, Osibisa, The Hamsters and Josiah, with Arthur Brown as MC.

Tickets can be purchased with no booking fee by sending a SAE with cheque / postal orders payable to "Canterbury Sound Limited" to Canterbury Sound Festival, c/o Second Wave Promotions, PO Box 385, Uxbridge, Middlesex UB9 5DZ.

Free car parking.
Nearest train stations at Canterbury East, Canterbury West and Faversham.
