Set in a beautiful town within stunning Welsh countryside, Brecon Jazz takes place from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th August 2009, offering a mix of Great Brits and legendary Jazz stars from across the African continent to share the joy of Jazz in 50 concerts over 3 days.

Artists include South African piano legend Abdullah Ibrahim, Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango and the Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem who will headline the 2009 Brecon Jazz Festival. Festival favourite Courtney Pine will also return alongside a line-up including Alan Barnes, Stan Tracey, Clark Tracey, Keith Little Band, Art Themen, Willie Garnett's Big Band, Pete King, Alec Dankworth, and more.

There will be 25 concerts over the weekend, which will also feature free family events - Fireworks on Friday, a Jazz Carnival parade on Saturday, and the Jazz Service on Sunday.

The Festival will be held in four central venues – Theatr Brycheiniog, a 800-seater concert venue, a 500 seater cafe venue, and Brecon Cathedral.
