The closest Portuguese main city is Castelo Branco. Boom takes place for a week from Sunday 22nd until Sunday 29th July 2018.

Boom says its "not only a festival, it is a state of mind. Inspired by the principles of Oneness, Peace, Creativity, Sustainability, Transcendence, Alternative Culture, Active Participation, Evolution and Love, it is a space where people from all over the world can converge to experience an alternative reality."

The event features music, art, sculpture, video, installations, cinema, theatre around the concept of crosspollination of different art forms for 'a gathering of the psychedelic tribes'.

This year's theme is 'Sacred Geometry', and the guest country is Costa Rica.
