Originally billed as 'Hogmanay in the Highlands!', this small community's winter festival consists of several events which include showcasing local musicians, and celebrating Christmas and New Year with traditional carols and a Traditional New Year Ceilidh.

Most events are held in the Boat of Garten Village Hall, and as well as music, past years have included workshops and storytelling. The programme planned so far is as follows:
Sunday, 24th December:
Carol Singing at Grampian Crescent and in the Community Garden from 6pm.
Traditional Clarsach Music at the Boat Hotel from 7pm. Free admission.
Thursday, 28th December - Rock the Boat - at 7pm in the Boat of Garten Village Hall with local young musicians and a licensed bar. Admission cost - £3.
Saturday, 30th December:
A Ceilidh Dance Workshop in the Boat of Garten Village Hall starting at 3pm. Bring your lanterns and torches - refreshments available. Admission - £2.
Live traditional music with Jim and Jake from the Benchally Ceilidh Band at the Boat Hotel from 8pm onwards. Admission - free.
Sunday, 31st December - A Traditional Highland Ceilidh Dance with the Benachally Ceilidh Band at the Boat of Garten Village Hall from 8pm - 2am. Admission - £12(adults) /£6(children). Licensed Bar available.

This Highland village is not far from Aviemore and just 30 miles from Inverness. It is set within stunning scenery near the River Spey. Known as the Osprey Village, there's also birdwatching, a steam railway, cycle routes and plenty of places to stay.
