The family friendly, laid back, fancy dress party with beards, bands and DJs, returns as a three day event at a new location Kedleston Hall Park, in Derbyshire held from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th May 2011.

Line-up

The festival will have bands, DJs, and comedians across six stages with the first acts confirmed to play including Athlete headlining Friday, The Waterboys headlining Saturday, Alabama 3 who headline Sunday night, and Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls who will headline the Beard Top on the Sunday night. Headlining the Magical Sounds Tent are Eat Static, The Orb Sound System, and DJ X (Lab 4). Also confirmed are The Undertones, Transglobal Underground, UK Subs, Tofu Love Frogs, Martha Tilston, Abdoujaparov, David Gibb, 3 Daft Monkeys, Dan Donnelly, Attila The Stockbroker, Verbal Warning, Wobbly Squadron, and more. Tickets


Tickets are now on sale with a weekend ticket priced at £70, 12-16 weekend tickets are priced at £34, 5-12 weekend tickets are priced at £24, children under 5 are free and Family Tickets are priced at £180 (2 x adult & 2 x children). All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There will a charge for car parking of £7. Please note you will be charged £10 at the gate if you do not have a ticket. A campervan ticket is priced at £22.

There was also a deposit scheme in operation for 2011. Where festival goers could pay for half of the ticket now, £32.50, and then the remainder in February 2011.

World record

Bearded Theory will yet again be attempting to break the world record for the most amount of fancy dress Beards in one place and one time. Last year (2010) they created the record with just over 1800 people and they hope to break the record again on the Sunday of the 2011 festival. New for 2011

A new addition to Bearded Theory 2011 will be the Drop Inn which will showcase a U.V Party, Karaoke, Skate Ramp, Old School Console Arcade, Chill Out Space and local DJs playing into the early hours. The Drop Inn will also host workshops on DJ Mixing, Music Production, Dance, Poi, African Drum Making, Graffiti and art. This area is designed to cater for mini adults from 12-18.

Angel Gardens

Angel Gardens return tons of great stuff for kids of any age to have fun with. Activities and workshops include Dance, Drumming, Knit for Peace, make your own willow hobby horse, Flower Garlands workshop, Bath Bombs workshop, making puppets to use at the bedtime story, The Gruffalo Hunt and storytelling with the Gruffalo in person... that is if you can find him on the Gruffalo hunt! This year there's also yoga and meditation for adults and later for kids (including some baby yoga). A chance to to start your day with Wake up Shakeup... a morning dance sessions for kids and parents. Activities include Circus Skills and walkabouts, a Lantern Parade setting off from the gardens at 8.45pm, You're a star story time, Kissing Board, and 9pm is fire show time.

New for this year is the 'Pixie Photo Studio' in a proper glam(ish) photo studio, come and have a fairy make over and have your pic taken. Teams can also be booked in for the 'It's A Knockout' on Sunday.

The festival will also offer a huge childrens area, site art, on-site art work, world foods, open mic, camping, and more.
