Theme

The theme for Bearded Theory 2010 is anything with a beard. The festival is making a record attempt again for the most people with beards and plan to make it a special occasion.

The festival will also offer a Beard Styling Parlour, workshops, circus skills, site art, on-site art work, world foods, open mic, camping, and more.

Childrens area

The children's area offers everything from a children's open mic stage, climbing wall, zip lines, play ground, toddler area, breast feeding facilities, Mum and Dad chill out space, tree houses, circus skills, arts and crafts, story tellers, chidren's carnival, disco tent and more. This area is free to use and also offers sensibly priced food and drink for kids.

Site improvements

Site Improvements for 2010 include seating areas, large under cover area at the back of the arena - facing main stage, more covered areas including an eating area, improved disabled facilities, more roadway, site art team, comedy tent, chill out tent, and craft area. The whole site has been moved round and the arena is now in the car park.

Organisers are giving everyone the opportunity to perform around the site with 'Busk Stops' strategically placed around the festival site for festival goers to sing/play/perform in front of the crowd during the stage breaks.

Only one outdoor stage, being a vastly improved dome stage, with The Beard Top, Magical Sounds, new Skiffle Stage, and Baaar Stage will all be in circus tents. The license hours on the Friday evening have been extended until 2am. The Beard Top stage will be open until 2am with acoustic music on Friday and Saturday.

Facilities

The festival will have 3 bars - one being the Baaar Stage and the others will be located in the Beard Top and Magical Sounds tent. There will be a village shop onsite. The organisers hand pick good food traders that sell Chinese, Indian, Tibet, Italian, English and general burger type stuff, and all have veggie options. Plus onsite showers, toilets and hopefully compost toilets in certain areas in 2010.

The festival will be supporting the local community in Ashbourne and Hulland Ward by using local contractors, giving free trader pitches to local shops, supporting a local charity and giving free advertising to business in the local area.

The nearest train station is Belper.

More information will be here when available.
