The first BBC Electric Proms festival will take place at the newly refurbished Roundhouse in Camden, London from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th of October 2006.

The idea for this new festival is to allow artists to perform something a bit different, whether it be a performance of rare tracks, a unique collaboration or a cross bridging of genres.

The Who will be debuting their new rock-opera 'Wire and Glass' and there will also be the worldwide premiere of the new album by Damon Albarn’s latest project The Good, The Bad, and The Queen. The Guillemots are also confirmed to play.

The festival will also shortly be announcing a film programme, a string of artists who are going to perform 'early years' sets, workshops, intimate performances and a (John) Peel Night. In addition 14 unsigned artists will be playing the fringe events of this year's debut festival.

Tickets to see The Good, The Bad, and The Queen cost £15 and can be bought from here.

Tickets to see The Who cost £25 - sold out.

There will be more information here when available.
