Bath Music Festival takes place from Wednesday 22nd May until Sunday 2nd June, bringing together classical, jazz, world, folk and electronica throughout various venues in Bath.

Line-up

Newly appointed Artistic Director, Alasdair Nicolson has announced a line-up that includes Seth Lakeman; Scottish Chamber Orchestra led by Alexander Janiczek; Danish String Quartet; Sacconi Quartet; Bath Philharmonia; Hebrides Ensemble & Anna Huntley; Christian Ihle Hadland; Sväng; Väsen; Martin Constantine directs singers from the Royal College of Music; Florilegium; Gjermund Larsen Trio; Measha Brueggergosman; The BBC Singers; Harry Nicoll; James Baillieu; Norma Winstone; Glauco Venier; Klaus Gesing; Flat Earth Society; Harriet Williams; Jessica Walker; Matthew Sharp; Sacconi Quartet; and Meow Meow.

Venues

Performances take place across the city in a variety of venues including the Assembly Rooms, The Forum, the Pavilion, the Guildhall and Bath Abbey. The festival ends with an outdoor show in the heart of the city.

Party in the City

The main event is the Party in the City on the first Friday of Bath International Music Festival (24th May)with a programme of free events in venues including the Assembly Rooms, Bath Abbey, Guildhall, Pump Room and Parade Gardens. The evening gets underway with the regular Schools Procession.

Theme

The theme of the 2013 Music Festival is Mystics, Magic, Myths and Monsters.
