The Alcester Winter Festival is a new event in addition to the annual Alcester Folk Festival and will take place from 27th February until 1st March 2009 at The Grieg Centre, Alcester, in Warwickshire. It is a winter version of the well known Singers' festival and will features workshops, folk clubs, singarounds and sessions.

Performers at the event, which will run on Friday and Saturday evening and up until 5pm Sunday, so far include Scolds Bridle, Dave Walmisley (Risky Business), Dave Webber & Anni Fentiman, Les Sullivan, Andy Casserley, His Worship & The Pig (Sunday), Gu4, Duncan Mcfarlane, Colin Pitts, Andy Wall, Jon Harvison, Ian Nicholls, Tommy Dempsey, Copper Kettle, Pete Castle, Tony Portlock & Lorraine, Speake & Lowe & Friends, Dave James & Celia, Alan Whitbread, Bob Dovey & Vanessa, Dave Bennett & Brenda Hart, Sarah Morton, Alhambra, and Hex.

The will also be folk clubs, singarounds, story telling, and sessions with Flos Headford.

The event starts at 8pm Friday, up until 5pm Sunday the 1st of March and offers indoor camping, for tents as well as campervans, and caravans. Tickets are priced at £15 including camping. Food will be available, and there will be a selection of real ales on offer in the bar.
