The Secret Garden Party, taking place somewhere in a field in Cambridgeshire, has confirmed dates as 20-23rd July for 2023. It returned this July after a 5-year hiatus; next year will be its 21st anniversary.

Having already sold out of the pre-sale ticket allocation, remaining tickets will go on general sale Friday 2nd December at 10am. They will be available via www.secretgardenparty.com

Instalment plans are in place to help spread the payments. Boutique Camping is set to go on sale after Christmas.

The award-winning Secret Garden Party is a much-loved and a truly independent event, offering 4 days of immersive entertainment and camping, with the focus on championing new and creative ideas. Situated in a beautiful location by a shimmering lake it offers over 10 live music and dj stages, a multitude of games, parades, performances, secret happenings, thought-provoking art installations, delicious food and drink, outdoor swimming, stunning unique visual displays and much much more. It is all lovingly curated with meticulous attention to detail. The intention is to transport ‘gardeners’ into a temporary magical parallel world in which they can reawaken a carefree sense of childish fun and playfulness.

The Head Gardener says:

“I started the Garden some 21 years ago with one thing in mind - bringing like-minded people together from all over and to enable their interaction; too often, as a shy teenager, did I know how hard it was to break out of your group and meet new people. So it was that the interactive fun and games were born, less for their own sake and more for the friendships they could forge. It is a true honour to have seen that work so well that we have born not just marriages but also (famous) bands, performers and, some, very successfully companies. All down to fun, games and meeting new people.

In other news, some of you might be aware that this all takes place on a working farm, and as part of our continual diversification into greener and smarter technologies we have turned every possible loo on site into a compost one and are soon to take delivery of a Hydrothermal Pyrolyser. This fancy bit of kit allows us to use all of the waste products from the event, as well as the farm, and turn it into electricity; with the only waste product being biochar. Or to put it more simply we can turn your shit into lasers, literally.

As ever we have been overwhelmed by the love that our family-run event has been lucky enough to receive and as we go into our 21st year it goes without saying I am incredibly excited about we go next.”

But sometimes you must go back to go forward and so it with great joy SGP can announce the return of some of the heroes of SGPs past:

Dance-Off, Chai Wallahs, Feast of Fools, Secret FM, Small World, The Drop, The DogHouse, The Living Room, the (now infamous) secret bar, the bridge(!), an even larger Pagoda and a new version of the Collosillyum that is being reborn (with the Village Circus and He She They) as The Circus Maximus. Expect new heroes such as the The Provibers with the Vibrary, Ukukhapha (aka the party bus), The Prize Cock and more to be announced very soon.

‘THE MOST CULTURALLY IMPORTANT FESTIVAL OF 2022…. Culture or Trash July 2022

Festivals aren’t just weekends in fields with music. They bind people, they create culture, and they reinvigorate us to play, like we were children again. Through its attention to detail, inclusive stages – there were so many little labyrinths of queer culture and cabaret culture in tiny little tents going on until 6am, more than perhaps even at Glastonbury – SGP’s return massively enriches the UK festival scene.’
