Tears for Fears have been announced to headline a 2-day special show that is Bath Festivals 70th Anniversary Festival Finale, to take place at the city's Recreation Ground on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2018.

The band’s Roland Orzabal said: “We have a massive six months ahead, and this just tops it off beautifully. Coming home to play in the city where it all started for us 37 years ago on the Rec for the finale weekend of the 70^th anniversary of the Bath Festival is a perfect way to round off the tour. We can’t wait.”

The finale weekend of The Bath Festival will have three outdoor stages and promises a number of acts across the two days. Joining Tears for Fears on the Saturday will be Alison Moyet, with much more to be announced for the event.

Ian Stockley, Chief Executive of Bath Festivals said: “We’re delighted to announce plans for our finale weekend on the Rec, 26^th – 27^th May. The mix of events during this weekend will allow us to deliver a lovingly crafted, top notch, very English open air party, tailor-made for the whole family, as a conclusion to the true festival experience that we are developing for the city across the 17 days. There could not be a more appropriate band to announce as our first headline act for this weekend of events than Tears For Fears.”

Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow, Friday 15th December, priced at £80 for both days or £50 for either day.
