This summer's Boomtown Fair, the festival with an on going narrative for about to have Chapter 8: 'The Revolution Starts Now' happening at Matterley Estate, nr. Winchester, in Hampshire over the long weekend of Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th August 2016 cannot stop booming! The festival which secured a licence for an increased capacity to 60,000 a few weeks ago has revealed that more than 80 street venues will augment the festival's main stages this year. Whilst these will offer a chance to see acts already on the bill, they will offer a new and totally unique setting, plus DJs, crazy games including pillow fights, cabaret, theatre, spoken word including outstanding obituaries, takeovers, role-play, and more. The new micro-venues include The Sky Bar, Behind Bars and Patisserie Calorie, as well as staple favourites; the Job Centre, Postal Posse, The Bank, ASBO Disco!

In anticipation of the larger capacity, sustainability steps are being taken to minimise the festival’s impact on the surrounding environment. With audience travel making up around 70% of a festival's carbon footprint, BoomTown are encouraging sustainable, green travel and reducing congestion via a number of public transport methods including; Coach & Festival Ticket packages; Shuttle Buses from the train station and Car Share schemes. To help those who plan to attend via public transport, the event organisers are offering a couple of pre-pitched tent hire options (including Camplight) to help minimise the load and encourage attendees to only bring what they need and intend to take home.
