Boardmasters reveals a new seventh stage

Boardmasters which takes place from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th August 2016 at Watergate Bay, and Fistral Beach in Cornwall has announced a new seventh stage the Net Loft, that will showcase new Cornish talent curated in partnership with BBC Music introducing Cornwall.

Friday headliners Seven Cities are joined by Hanterhir, Lost Dawn, Thnk Tnk, The Dustbowl Children, Abbie Piper, Honey, The Velvet Hands, Sleep Cycles, Buffalo Frame, John Buckley, Kernuyck, and Atlantic Bridge.

On Saturday Echo Town top a bill featuring Auction for the Promise Club, The Sum Of, Cross, Charlie Bowdery, The Golden Dregs, The Raise, Olive Haigh, Waxx, The Interceptors, Loft, Fire & The Brain, and Noel Prior.

The Black Tambourines headline Sunday with support from Innereyeful, King Creature, Tinned Fruit, Wolf Note, Stone Roots, Syd Miles, The Isabelles, Night Motor, O'deus, Blue River, Beachfield, and Samuel Howard.

They join headliners Deadmau5, James Bay, and Chase & Status, plus Primal Scream, Lianne La Havas, Rat Boy, Eats Everything, Mystery Jets, Kaiser Chiefs, Craig David Presents TS5, Example & DJ Wire, Wolf Alice, Sigma, Wilkinson, Gabrielle Aplin, Jack Savoretti, Jamie Lawson, Mnek, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Raleigh Ritchie, Kano, Foxes, Krept & Konan, Soak, Mike Skinner presents Tonga, Danny Howard, Protoje, Spring King, Eliza and The Bear, Louis Berry, Formation, Big Deal, Toucan, Carly Foxx, Camelphat, Apres, Ben Remember, KLOE, Hein Cooper, Jackmaster, The Magic Numbers, Blossoms, Bodhi, Coasts, Detroit Swindle, Doorly, Dusky, Eli & Fur, Eton Messy DJs, Heidi, Jonas Rathsman, Maribou State, Rationale, The Mouse Outfit, and Vant.

The festival offers five days of surf competition at Fistral Beach and a weekend of live music on the stunning headland, Watergate Bay.

The surf competition will this year be included as part of the World Surf League qualifying series. Featuring as a Qualifying Series event, Boardmasters will host the Boardmasters international competitoors for the Men’s Open, the Boardmasters Women’s Open and the Boardmasters Men’s and Women’s Longboard contests. A tier 2 adult weekend ticket for 4 days is priced at £134 with camping. A five day ticket with camping is priced at £144. Deposit option is available securable for £30. Day tickets, non-camping, and parking car pass tickets will be available at a later date. Children aged 10 years and under can attend free but require a ticket.

VIP options are also available.

Boardmasters is located across two sites jam-packed with the best in music and sports action. Keep the party going with Beach Sessions with live music on stunning Fistral Beach, as well as the Beach Bar and BBQ offering food, drink and DJ sets. Head into Newquay and party into the early hours with Boardmasters After Parties, which take place at clubs around the town centre. There are Pro Skate and BMX competitions to check out the best in extreme sports, the Surf Village, Cornish Market where you can sample delights from local merchants, as well as Surf Art, photography and film sessions, surf lessons with a local surf school, a Wellbeing Area, and on site Eco Spa, plus luxury camping and glamping on offer to upgrade your experience even more.
