Sister Sledge have been announced as the Friday night headliner at Shambala which takes place on August Bank Holiday Weekend from Thursday 25th until Sunday 28th August 2016 at a secret location.

The festival unveiled the news last night, saying, " Picture this: It’s August. It’s Friday night at Shambala. You’ve left your mate Frankie back at the tent and are so Lost In Music you hardly know where you are. You spot a guy throwing shapes in front of the main stage, He’s The Greatest Dancer. You ask if you can join him. ‘Of course’! he says ‘We Are Family!’.

"You guessed it, Shambalans – we’ve only gone and got Sister Sledge as Friday night’s headliner! Undisputably one of the most iconic female groups of all time, sisters Debbie, Joni and Kim have racked up sales of over 15 million records worldwide, have performed for the president at The White House and now they’re heading to Shambala! Shambalans, prepare for the BIGGEST singalong our adventures in utopia have ever seen."

The festival is expected to have 200 acts across a dozen or so stages of music programming, plus a roller disco, karaoke, contemporary circus performances (tightrope walking, swinging trapeze, pole dancing), and loads more. Tiers 1 and 2 sold out within hours of release, Tier 4 tickets are priced as follows:

An adult weekend ticket is £169
Teen (aged 15/16/17yrs) weekend ticket £89
Child (aged 5-14yrs) weekend ticket £39
Child and Teen tickets may only be purchased with adult tickets. Maximum of 2 teen tickets per adult over 21yrs.

There are also Easypay and Split Payment initiatives, both of which allow the cost of tickets to be spread between now and next May. With the Split Payment scheme (available on Tier 3 and Tier 4 tickets), Shambaholics pay half now and the balance before May 31st 2015. The Easypay scheme, enables the spread of the cost of tickets payments at anytime between now and May 31st, after paying an non-refundable deposit of £40. The Easypay scheme is available only on Tier 4 tickets. You decide how much and how often you pay for your tickets, and you can make a payment simply by logging in to your TicketSellers account.
