Live Nation-Gaiety Holdings (LN-Gaiety) has acquired a majority share in The Warehouse Project and the Parklife Festival, as reported by Music Week (here).

The new agreement will allow events under The Warehouse Project brand and Parklife Festival now in it's 7th year to benefit from Live Nation’s leadership and the combination of both parties’ experience in the sector.

Denis Desmond, chairman of Live Nation UK & Ireland/LN-Gaiety, said, "By establishing a hugely successful club and festival business, The Warehouse Project has confirmed their status as serious players in the UK live industry. Our partnership with them ensures that they continue to produce their world-class events while giving them a platform for further growth and expansion to ensure Manchester stays firmly on the map.”

As part of the LN-Gaiety investment in Parklife, Simon Moran, Bob Angus and founders Sacha Lord-Marchionne and Sam Kandel, remain significant shareholders.

The Warehouse Project founders Sacha Lord-Marchionne and Sam Kandel, released a statement saying, "By working with Live Nation, we are able to progress with our creative vision, bringing unique events to the UK, now with the added advantage of being able to tap into the most diverse global network in live entertainment. We are beyond excited about the next chapter for The Warehouse Project and look forward to collaborating with Live Nation."

Last year LN-Gaiety Holdings Ltd – a joint venture between Live Nation and Gaiety Investments – took over festivals and venues operator MAMA & Company, and their live music events including Lovebox, The Great Escape, Wilderness, Citadel, Somersault, Global Gathering, Escape Into The Park, Eclectricity, and Vintage Festival.

Their portfolio of large UK festivals continues to grow with them already having a major stake in the V Festival, and owning  Creamfields, T in the Park, Download, Wireless, and Hard Rock Calling festivals.

They also have a controlling stake in Festival Republic (formerly Mean Fiddler) who run Reading and Leeds Festivals, Latitude, Community, Longitude, and Electric Picnic.

This year’s Parklife will take place over two days in Manchester on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June 2016 returning to Heaton Park. The bill includes Chemical Brothers, Major Lazer, Ice Cube, Jamie xx, Jess Glynne, Years & Years and Skepta. In recent years, the sell-out events have featured artists including Disclosure, Rudimental, Snoop Dogg and Foals.
