Bossy Love, Early Ghost, Gillbanks, Hattie Whitehead, Henry Green, Lady Sanity, Marcus McCoan, and She Drew The Gun that have made it through to the live final of Glastonbury Festival's 2016 Emerging Talent Competition, which is supported by PRS for Music and the PRS for Music Foundation.

You can hear all eight finalists on SoundCloud below:

The eventual winners will perform a set on one of the main stages at this year's Festival and will also be awarded a £5,000 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize, to help take their songwriting and performing to the next level. Two runners-up will each be awarded a £2,500 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize.

The eight acts were selected by Glastonbury judges from the longlist of 120 artists which was compiled by 40 of the UK's best online music writers, who chose their selections from thousands of entries.

Emily Eavis said, "Once again, we've been impressed by both the quality and quantity of new music out there in the UK and Ireland, with thousands of talented acts entering this year's competition. It was extremely tough to narrow the 120 acts on the longlist down to 8 finalists, but we're really pleased with the group of acts we've ended up with. I can't wait to see them play at the live finals."

Glastonbury Festival has been running the competition to find the greatest Emerging Talent for the last eight Festivals. Previous competitions have brought bands like Declan McKenna, Shields, K.O.G & the Zongo Brigade, M+A, Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, Treetop Flyers, London Afrobeat Collective, Ellen and the Escapades, We Have Band, Golden Silvers, The Subways, Stornoway, and Scouting For Girls to Festival prominence.

This year's line-up is yet to be announced. The first acts confirmed are Friday headliners Muse, Sunday headliners Coldplay, and Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra filling the 'legends' slot on the same day.

Ticket holders for this summer's Glastonbury Festival are reminded to take part in their future by making sure they apply for an EU Referendum postal or proxy vote. You will find links to the form to postal vote here and proxy voting here. For more information (see the news page here).

Tickets for this year have sold out. For those still hoping to get tickets, there is good news. There will be a re-sale in Spring, but the number of tickets will, as expected be limited.

Car park passes priced at £35 will be available when paying the ticket balance in April. It is not possible to book Car Park tickets until the balance for at least one of the tickets on the booking has been paid.

The dates for the 2016 Festival will be from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June. Expect something like 2,000 performances at over 100 venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information, site art, decor, and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out! Headliners Coldplay, plus P J Harvey, and Jeff Lynne's ELO are the only acts confirmed so far. As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2016 rumours, updated as we receive information.
