Summerland

Debs Armstrong, the creative force behind Glastonbury Festival's naughty corner, has created a new event in London called Summerland an original immersive live event which offers audiences a warm, hyper-real tropical paradise in the middle of winter. The event is offering a chance for the public to make an investment.

After only one week of their private campaign, they've now opened the doors to public investment starting from as little as £10.

The experience will be like going to an immersive festival in a jungle paradise. With multiple attractions all around, the audience will roam freely and explore what is effectively a film set with a live theatrical wonderland. The theme is Holiday in a Day, with a whole day and night condensed into each 4hr show. Audiences check-in at the Departure Lounge before teleporting into a hidden paradise with jungle, waterfall, pool, hot-tubs and bands, spectacular AV displays, jungle landscaping; character performers, live bands and immersive warmth.

Each day Summerland has four hour slots on offer to come and experience summer by a tropical waterfall in a beachside setting where the mapped sky above goes from dawn to dusk, and on through the night. The shows are divided up so that the daytime focuses on families, and yoga and massage and wellbeing.

Then the night time shows will go a bit more pool party. There's a stage that's built into the rocks by the waterfall and DJ on top of a waterfall, with hot tubs by the stage. It's like an immersive theatre experience meets festival. It's like a festival because you can wander around the venue as you like, but it's an immersive theatre because there's going to be character performers and music, a hybrid of all that and high end film technology.

This event is equity crowdfunded, using equity crowdfunding means that all the people who have loved the shows get to actually own part of it. It's the first festival that's been equity crowdfunded. Seedrs have created an investors forum. The Equity Crowd Funding offering the public a chance to get involved has opened today Wednesdsay 11th November 2015.

Summerland is expected to run from the Monday 12th December 2016 until Sunday 8th January 2017 at a secret location in London, and offers a chance to go to a tropical paradise without having to take a flight. A chance to experience a whole day in paradise in just 4 hours.

Prices are expected to range from £18 for an adult and £6 for kids and scale up to £75 for adults (no kids at evening sessions).
