Billy Ocean and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra first headliners for Lytham Festival

with Chesney Hawkes, Jimmy Somerville, Marti Pellow, Elaine Paige, & more

Billy Ocean and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are the first headlining acts announced for Lytham Festival (formerly Lytham Proms) which expands to eight days in August taking place at various venues including Lytham Green which hosts four nights of music.

Billy Ocean, is to top the bill of Lytham Festival’s ‘80s V 90s’ themed night on Friday 7th August with support from  Chesney Hawkes, Jimmy Somerville, East 17, Sinitta, Five, and Vengaboys who will all take to the stage offering a trip down memory lane for many, expect a flashback to school disco days.

On Sunday 9th August the theme of ‘Songs from Stage and Screen’ sees Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow and singer/actress Elaine Paige bring favourites from the West End and Broadway to life, backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the return to Lytham Festival of Britain’s Got Talent tenor Jonathan Antoine. Also taking to the stage will be young soprano Laura Wright.

Marti Pellow commented, "I'm just delighted to have been invited to perform on the last night of the Lytham Festival - it's going to be an amazing evening of some of my favourite songs of all time, it’s also a real privilege to be working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra again. I know we’re going to end up creating something very special that night."

Tickets starting at £32.50 go on sale at 10am this Saturday 20th December

Lytham Festival will take place from Sunday 2nd to Sunday 9th August 2015 with the live music element returning to the main open-air stage on Lytham Green and an extra fourth night meaning the live music runs from Thursday to Sunday.

There will also be additional events including comedy, literature and even more music featuring at other venues across the town running alongside the main arena on Lytham Green events over the course of the week will include both free and ticketed options.
