Alt-Fest have broken their silence and issued a statement on their Facebook page (here) which states:

"We at Alt-Fest HQ would like to sincerely apologise for our silence over the last 24 hours. Currently we are working all hours to deal with some extremely challenging & stressful issues for Alt-Fest. We will be able to provide an official statement with full information before Monday and answer any questions you may have at that time. We want you to know that we have been doing everything we can to take the right steps for you: our fans, friends & customers - we assure you we only have your best interests at heart.

Missy and Dom"

They have had to issue the statement after rumours circulated the event had been cancelled, it looks like the organisers of event slated to run from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August 2014 at Boughton House, in Kettering, Northamptonshire maybe trying to salvage the event, despite the rumours, with some of the smaller bands who have been booked not yet been told it's cancelled.

This may be backed up by the 'The SteamPunk Experience' which are also set to appear at the event, and have also issued a Facebook statement (here) revealing that they are prepared for a plan B if the event does have to cancel. They are considering helping to put together a replacement event which may involve the Sophie stage organisers, they announced,

"There have been many posts about bands cancelling for the main event, and the whole festival being off. I have not had this officially confirmed yet, But I am in the process of putting together a plan B. Rest assured any traders who have paid us (the steampunk Experience will receive a refund if requested, before the date of the Festival, or will be able to trade at the replacement event which is likely to be a steampunk only, but may involve the Sophie stage organisers too, we've already had offers of suitable venues, and headliners have already been paid by myself, so a show will go on and it will be Splendid, watch this Space, Cheers Dale"

Alt-Fest ran a Kickstarter campaign last year and raised over £60,000 towards the festival, is to feature over 130 acts across the metal, rock, goth, industrial, steampunk and more genres.
