The first acts have been announced for Sidmouth Folk Week eight days filled with folk music, singing, dancing, pub sessions, concerts, and cream teas, focused in the centre of Sidmouth, Devon and on the sea front. The dates for the 60th edition are Friday 1st to Friday 8th August 2014.

The line-up includes Oysterband, Cara Dillon, Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham, Steve Knightley, Kathryn Tickell & The Side, Martin Simpson, Breabach, Eliza & Martin Carthy, KAN, April Verch, Roy Bailey & John Kirkpatrick, Le Bruit Court Dans la Ville, Copper Family, Kris Drever and Eamonn Coyne, Lisa Knapp, Habadekuk, Zulu Tradition, Tony McManus, New Rope String Band, Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson, John Kirkpatrick, Calan, Belshazzars Feast, Moulettes, and Fiona Hunter.

Also confirmed are Josienne Clark & Ben Walker, Pete Coe, Andy Cutting, Taffy Thomas, Debs Newbold, Jim Woodland, Steve Ashley, Martyn Wyndham-Read, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, The Carrivick Sisters, Mary Hampton, The WIll Pound Band, and Gren Bartley.

As well as live music, expect ceilidh dances, social dance bands & callers, workshops, a dance display, processions, craft fair, a themed children's festival, fun and games and more, with the festival spread across several venues throughout the town, over an 8 day period.

There are early bird savings available. An early bird all-in-one adult ticket is priced at £255, or £180 for an adult week ticket, £72 for a full weekend ticket, and £34 for an adult day ticket. Ticket options also available for young adult (aged 18-24 years), a youth (aged 12-17 years), child (aged 7-11 years), with children aged under 7 able to attend for free. All-in-One, Week and Weekend tickets will now be wristbanded, rather than card tickets.

There will be charges for using the campsite. A week camping pass is available if you have bought an All-in-One, week ticket, or Campsite Passport. Week long camping is priced: Family Deal £170, Adult £64, Youth £32, Children under 12 FREE, Caravan/Motorhome Supplement £34. Weekend camping is priced: Adult £28, Youth £14, Children under 12 FREE. Day camping is priced: Adult £14, Youth £7, Children under 12 FREE. A Campsite Passport also needs to purchased if you want to buy Camping Tickets without buying a Festival Season Ticket, this is priced at £38.
