Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis has bared all for a nude charity calendar.

He is among 12 local businessmen and celebrities who have stripped off for the 'Legends of Somerset 2014' calendar, which is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The 78-year-old farmer obviously appears as 'Mr June', clutching his trademark skimpy pair of denim shorts to protect his modesty whilst standing up at the stone circle on the Glastonbury Festival site at his farm in Pilton, Somerset.

The calendar is the idea of local photographer Jason Bryant and will be launched tonight (Thursday, 14th November) at the Swan Hotel in Wells and will then be available from various locations in the city including Wells Cinema, The Swan Hotel, City News, Griggs Newsagents and a stall in Wells Market Place on Saturdays.

Jason, (who kindly permitted us to use his images), told eFestivals, "The photo was taken 2 weeks ago, the shoot took 5 minutes because he was such a great model he said yes straight away. It was shot in the stone circle in autumn sunshine, and we both laughed throughout the whole shoot - it was good fun! A good model always makes a good pic, and this is the best pic ever!"

the calendar's inspiration

The calendar idea came from a Facebook conversation with Bryant and Shepton Mallet musician Doug Siddons who were discussing a photograph - 'Somerset Beauty' where Jason photographed model Ashton Porter recreating the iconic American Beauty image with cider apples instead of rose petals.

Others featured in the calendar include rugby legend Wayne Stiling, Chris Jagger (the brother of Mick), Wells town crier Len Sweales and Shepton "rock flock" sculptor Jeff Body.

The calendars are priced at £10 each.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They are a source of support, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. They are also a force for change, listening to people affected by cancer and working together for better cancer care.

We hope Michael will be keeping his iconic shorts on for next year's sold out event which runs for five full days from  Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th June 2014 across over a 1,000 acres of countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes.

No acts are confirmed as yet. As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2014 rumours, updated as we receive information. Help us to help you - if you hear of a band that's playing, please let us know
