According to The Sun, (here), Mick Jagger, lead singer of this summer's Glastonbury Festival headliners, The Rolling Stones wants to put together his own festival.

A source tells the newspaper that, "Mick has put some feelers out in Brazil to put on a big show. The plans are ambitious but if he pulls it off it will be huge. The whole vibe of the event is very much 'flower power' and the same hippy values that Glastonbury prides himself on. The publicity drive will begin in the next six months or so but there's no doubt there will be big names on the bill."

The Brazilian festival is apparently being slated in for November 2014 as a possible replacement for the annual Rock In Rio event held each September.

The Rolling Stones wouldn't be the first acts the first act to host a music festival, Fairport Convention have been doing it with Cropredy for years, the Levellers put on a hugely successful sell out festival, with the latest edition taking place last weekend, relative newcomers Mumford & Sons host their Gentlemen Of The road events, and punks Goldblade have their very own festival Bladefest at the end of the month.

Whilst Jagger may be considering trying his hand at something new, he is sure to do extensive research into organising such an event, beforte their headline slot at this summer's Glastonbury the band pored over videos of previous Glastonbury headliners to prepare for their debut.

Glastonbury Festival returns next year, with the dates confirmed as from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th June.
