Deerhunter cancel Swn Festival appearance

Deerhunter have cancelled their forthcoming European tour and consequently their Friday night appearance at this year's Swn Festival which takes place from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th October.

The band stated, "We are very disappointed to have to cancel our upcoming European tour do to unforeseen circumstances. We were very excited for these shows, but unfortunately family circumstances at home for multiple members of the band have made this unavoidable. We will reschedule as soon as possible."

Festival goers who bought a standalone Deerhunter ticket, are asked to contact the point of purchase for a refund.

Other current festival cancellations include Amateur Best, and Danny Byrd, plus both Spectrals, and The Lay-Lows who have split up.

Swn have also added Belong DJs, DJ Felson, Duo-Flex, Outfit, The Wytches, Ultimate Power DJs, Valleyers, and Wichita DJs to the line up.

Swn is a four day showcase of some of the best music from Wales and from around the world alongside DJs, film and art, held throughout Cardiff. The event, started by DJ Huw Stephens, takes place in various venues. The previously announced Solus will no longer be used as a festival venue for 2013.

A 4-day wristband is priced at £65, a Thursday only wristband is priced at £17, a Friday only wristband is priced at £20, a Saturday only wristband is priced at £28, and a Sunday only wristband is priced at £22.

Swn Festival 2013 wristbands allow access to all Swn Festival 2013 shows, subject to capacity of individual venues. However, there are a few select headline shows that will require a Top-Up ticket as well as a Swn Festival wristband to gain entry. (Everything Everything - £2).
