Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye have been forced to scrap festival appearances at  Lokerse Festival in Belgium today, and Summer Sonic in Tokyo next Saturday following an undisclosed injury to guitarist Gem Archer.

A statement issued from the group’s management said, "Due to guitarist Gem Archer's injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice. They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem in an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow."

What is preventing the guitarist from performing has not yet been revealed and the group's management officials insist an update on his condition will be forthcoming shortly.

Bandmate Andy Bell took to Twitter on Saturday to post, "Wanna wish my brother @gemarcherbe a speedy recovery."

Yesterday, Archer's wife Lou also tweeted, "Thanks for all your support and well wishes during this awful time. I know he will appreciate it. Hopefully he'll be back on his feet soon."

No comment has been made on the band's appearance at the twin V Festivals which will take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August 2013, and eFestivals will bring you updates once there are any.

Weekend tickets with camping were priced at £185 and weekend tickets with no camping were priced at £160 - both options have sold out for Stafford. Day tickets are priced at £89 with only KOL days available, and a car park pass pass is priced at £20, and a campervan pass is priced at £99, with luxury VIP camping, and combined coach packages still available.
