Toots and the Maytals have been forced to withdraw from their performance at next month's WOMAD - World of Music, Arts and Dance held at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury, in Wiltshire due to a head injury sustained by frontman Toots Hibbert at the River Rock Festival last month when a bottle hit him in the head. As Toots is still undergoing treatment his doctors advised that he cancel all his summer UK tour dates.

Toots management released this message for all his fans, "This regrettable decision was made by the medical team realizing that any performances at this time could seriously compromise Toots' health. Toots thanks all of his fans worldwide who have expressed their concern and sent their messages and prayers in emails and postings on facebook. Toots' health is the priority and therefore while the cancellation is regrettable, we trust you understand it."

WOMAD will be announcing an exciting new addition to the line-up soon. eFestivals hopes Toots will get well soon.

WOMAD brings together many forms of music, arts and dance from countries and cultures around the world on seven separate stage and workshop areas, at the picturesque site of Charlton Park, near Malmesbury in Wiltshire from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th July 2013.

The full line-up features around 100 artists from 40 countries performing over the festival weekend.

2013's festival also welcomes back the Taste The World stage, where artists performing are invited to present and prepare native dishes for audiences, occasionally using techniques not familiar to these shores.

There's also a full programme of adult and childrens workshops (limited spaces available - turn up early!), a cabaret tent, fun fair, comedy, DJ sessions, as well the normal festie fodder, WOMAD Spa, and a huge market of world crafts.

On Thursday for 'early bird' ticket holders The Open Air Stage is expected to once again offer live music from 7-11pm.

A weekend ticket - which are valid from the Friday until Sunday are priced at £145 (Thursday arrivals will also need a Thursday camping ticket costing £25).

Other ticket prices & options available will include:
Teenage Weekend Ticket (aged 14-17) - £75
Early Bird Disabled Weekend Ticket - £125
A campervan ticket is priced at £45
SN16 Resident Ticket is priced at £90

Day tickets are available with prices kept the same as last year. A Saturday or Sunday ticket is priced at £66 (£55 for SN16 purchasers).

Children 13 and under can come free with each adult ticket holder, but need a free child ticket. All children must hold their own ticket and must be accompanied by a ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21. One ticket holding parent or guardian can only accompany up to 4 people under the age of 18. Thursday tickets do not need to be purchased for children aged 13 and under.
