Festival organiser and farmer Michael Eavis will be bringing Bryan Ferry to the ancient Abbey's grounds for this year's Glastonbury Extravaganza.

Michael Eavis, who is an ambassador for the abbey, has decided to bring back the 17-year-old extravaganza – which shared a year off with his other more major event last year, due to local requests and as a thank you to those who live in the area.

This year the glorious Glastonbury Abbey grounds, in Somerset will on Sunday 11th August 2013 host the former Roxy Music frontman and his The Bryan Ferry Orchestra who will reinterpret his back catalogue in a 20s big band style in front of thousands, before the traditional closing fireworks finale.

Eavis said, "The concert is an opportunity for local people who can't always get to the festival in Pilton to enjoy something extra special in this lovely town. We were very fortunate to be able to get Bryan Ferry who will come up with the goods and deliver a spectacular show!"

The farmer has apart from the fallow year run the Extravaganza every year since 1996 on the historic site which is running an appeal to preserve its ruins. Last year the event was replaced by Orchestra in a Field run by Charles Hazlewood who have taken the decision to hold their next event in 2014.
