North Yorkshire's 'Machines' themed Deer Shed Festival held over the weekend of Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July 2013 has announced their comedy, cabaret and cinema line-up.

At Deer Shed all the comedy and cabaret is PG rated and family family. This year the Big Top's Friday Cabaret with Slightly Fat Features bringing their variety show of comedy and cabaret with a two hour show. Comedian Justin Moorhouse fills the Saturday night slot, with visual comedian Steve Best, Mrs Barbara Nice with a brand new show, hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury, spirit medium Ian D Montfort, and comedy magician Steve Price all also confirmed.

On Sunday in The Dock Stage Deer Shed's cinema takes over with the Machines theme featuring 'WALL.E', 'The Iron Giant' and 'Hugo' as well as a Silent Cinema experience of 'Phantom of the Opera' (1925) with live piano accompaniment.

Early on Saturday and Sunday morning the Lodge Stage hosts a selection of storyteller with The Flanagan collective presenting 'The William Stories'; a unique, interactive storytelling theatre experience for children where they can create their own adventures, people and places, as well as dissecting and exploring some Roald Dahl's literature. Storyteller Peter Grimm will be going on a journey through a medley of well known Brother's Grimm tales told with puppets, acting and live music.

The Lodge will also be home to Spoken word and talks with The Guardian's Dave Simpson talking to Tom Hingley of the Inspiral Carpets, in an entertaining talk about the rise and fall of the band, the Madchester scene and lessons learnt along the way. Author David Conn talks about his book 'Richer Than God' and Steve Manthorp will be presenting his illustrated talk 'Sound & Fury', covering the sound and iconography of heavy metal.

The arts programme at Deer Shed isn't restricted to performances and talks, it also includes a healthy splattering of miscellaneous events, stalls and showcases happening across the site throughout the festival with some curious contraptions and desirable delights including: Johnny White and his touring exhibition - Beastly Machines, and First Time a Coconut Vintage Arts Fair will be once more presenting crafts, arts and vintage wears.

The music line-up at Deer Shed includes Darwin Deez, Edwyn Collins, House of Love, Gaz Coombes, King Creosote, The Unthanks, Tubular Bells for Two, Eugene McGuinness, Willy Mason, The Milk, The Phantom Band, Public Service Broadcasting, Stealing Sheep, To Kill a King, Zervas and Pepper, Smoove and Turrell, Peggy Sue, Deaf Club, Novella, Moulettes, Kitty the Lion, Blue Rose Code, Sweet Baboo, Luke Sital-Singh, Death at Sea, Deep Sea Arcade, Dancing Years, Marconi Union, AlascA, and David McCaffrey.

Deer Shed Festival have announced that the fourth installment of the immersive, interactive and imaginative family festival will be Machines and will pull out all the stops to create a mechanical emporium celebrating the workings behind some of the worlds maddest and innovative creations.

The independent festival run by a family for families has a capacity of 6,000 and an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. As well as the music the event offers vintage art and craft stalls, kids tent, outside play area, and more.

An adult (16+) weekend ticket (Fri-Sun) is priced at £89.
Child (aged 6 - 15 years) weekend ticket is priced at £25
Child (aged under 5) weekend ticket is priced at £1
Weekend campervan & caravan pass is priced at £20
