The first acts have been announced for Tramlines festival which returns for a fifth year between Friday 19th and Sunday 21st July 2013 to the city of Sheffield.

60 of the city's music venues and performance spaces will be staging hundreds of acts across Sheffield. Devonshire Green's Main Stage and the new Stage Two on Rockingham Street will be joined by Barker's Pool filled with street theatre, plus the return of the Folk Forest, the Peace Gardens' World Stage, the Buskers Bus, Street Theatre, the Weston Park party and the Blues and Ale Trail - all with line up announcements to follow. Steel City DJ and producer Toddla T returns to Tramlines with an expanded dance music programme moving to a bigger venue and almost doubling its capacity.

Headlining the Devonshire Green Main Stage on Saturday will be Lianne La Havas, with support from Dutch Uncles, Friends, Lulu James, and Eliza and The Bear. The Sunday headliner is not yet announced, and will top a bill including The Jim Jones Revue, Slow Club, The Crookes, Veronica Falls, Theme Park, Peggy Sue, Teleman, and The Everley Pregnant Brothers.

Toddla T's dance line-up includes Maurice Fulton, Forgemasters, Chris Duckenfield, Theo Parrish, Stylo G, David Rodigan, Dub Phizix, Strategy, Dre Skull, DJ Ez, and of course The Toddla T Sound.

The new outdoor Stage Two will host New Young Pony Club, The Invisible, 2:54, Sky Larkin, Cheatahs, Thumpers, PINS, Menace Beach, Rolo Tomassi, Tall Ships, Wet Nuns, Lemuria, TTNG, and Kagoule.

Rounding off the first acts announced are Duke Dumont, B.Traits, Lanterns on the Lake, Alessi's Ark, and Fossil Collective.

Continuing their commitment to showcasing the best up and coming talent, Tramlines has linked up with BBC Introducing. BBC Introducing supports unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar talent – and two of their acts will open the Main Stage on Saturday.

Many acts are still to be announced for the festival which is easily accessible by road and rail networks. Travel South Yorkshire is lending its support, with schemes to bring visitors in from the outskirts of Sheffield and beyond.

Started in 2010 Tramlines key goal was to give festival-goers a chance to see established artists alongside up and coming acts. Entry this year is £6 per day.

Sarah Nulty, Festival Director at Tramlines, said, "We are really proud of this year’s line up and I think fans will agree that we've come back stronger than ever. We've got loads more in the pipeline to announce. Every year we put on literally hundreds of acts across the whole of the city so this is just the start.

"A few changes this year, the biggest being the introduction of a one off door charge of £6 per day, but we still have loads of free music and areas for people to enjoy. We've increased the capacity for Toddla, added a new stage and really enhanced our fringe.

"Tramlines really is a festival like no other. We give music fans a chance to see their favourite artists for just £6 a day. I'd say we are the best value festival out there and I can't wait for the festival weekend now – things are really gearing up."
