Now in it's fourth year, Meadowlands Festival is set in the picturesque grounds of an Elizabethan Manor house, Glynde Place, and is home to VIth Viscount and Viscountess Hampden. The estate is situated approximately 4 miles from Lewes in a village called Glynde in the heart of the South Downs with views looking out across the weald.

Comedy, theatre and spoken word will once again feature with a dedicated stage, organised by Otherplace Productions and who are responsible for the theatre venue in the Three & Ten pub as well as The Warren venue at this year's Brighton Fringe Festival. The 'Pop-up Casino' will also be making a re-appearance. Kids are catered for via storytelling, workshops, games, theatre and a disco/rave for teenagers; plus there's a healing tent, walkabouts, film screenings, luxury loos (When Nature Calls), showers, a woodland area and luxury camping (The Bell Tent Company). New for this year is The Hampton Wick, which is being revamped from the old cricket pavilion, and is located just outside a wooded glade.

Organisers have also confirmed that Saturday's theme will be Victorian Traveling Circus. They announced that, "We will be decorating and dressing the festival to match this theme, including beautiful steam driven Victorian funfair rides for the kids. So we invite all you dreamers, fiends, and fanatics to join us and dress up for a night to celebrate the odd and the obscure!"

The Meadowlands Grassroots Competition is offering a chance for acts to play at this year's event. To enter artists & bands simply have to email a YouTube or Soundcloud link showcasing their best track along with a short bio of themselves to: grassroots@meadowlandsfestival.com . Entrants will be shortlisted by a panel of industry professionals and featured on the Meadowlands Festival website and Facebook page, where they will battle it out to get the most 'likes' to be crowned the 2013 Meadowlands Grassroots competition winner. The competition will end on Friday 12th April 2013 and the winning band will be contacted on 13th May 2013 with details of their slot.
