Local-born singer/songwriter Gareth Icke will headline the opening night of the family-friendly V-Dub Island which takes place at the County Showground, Northwood, on the Isle of Wight from Thursday 15th until Sunday 19th August 2013.

The former International Beach Soccer player first found the limelight with the rock band Kody, playing several tours and festivals over the course of their career. When the band split in 2008, Gareth became a solo artist, releasing his debut album 'It Gets Worse At Night' the following year along with single 'It Feels Like A Race'. With European, UK and worldwide tours on the calendar, 2013 looks set to bring even more success for the Ryde-based singer/songwriter.

Friday night's headliner is Neville Staple, and on Sunday night The Cuban Brothers headline they are the first acts to be confirmed, and further additions to the line-up will be announced over the coming weeks.

Now in its third year the chilled event is part music festival, and part meeting point for lovers of Volkswagens, of all types, but particularly the Beetle and Camper. Although first and foremost a Volkswagen show, the event has a whole host of other activities, and its line-up of music, entertainment and VW-related activities, including the traditional driveout and a 'Show and Shine' competition, attract attendees of all ages.

Tickets are priced at £27.50, with under 16s able to attend free. To buy tickets then, click here.
