American thrash metal legends Slayer will headline Sunday at Bloodstock Open Air happening at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire from Thursday 8th until Sunday 11th August 2013.

Cited as one of the 'Big Four' of thrash, the Californian four-piece will close the Ronnie James Dio stage on Sunday night at Catton Park, bringing their face-melting, monster riffs to the metal hoardes and showcasing tracks from their new studio album, due for release in 2013.

Guitarist, Kerry King said, "Can't wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock! Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes!! It's going to be hell on earth and I'm looking forward to having a party with all my British friends!"

They join the previously announced Friday headliners King Diamond and Saturday headliners Lamb Of God (UK exclusive), as well Anthrax, Accept, Avantasia, DevilDriver, Dark Funeral, Ex Deo, Kataklysm, Municipal Waste, Whitechapel, plus Amorphis, Fozzy, and Firewind (as UK exclusives). With many more bands are still to be revealed. The festival will have exclusive performances, established, international, and breaking acts.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Early bird tickets are priced at £100 for adults, and car parking is priced at £15, child (aged 4 - 11 years) tickets are priced at £25, with day tickets and campervan passes expected to be on sale at a later date.
