Online speculation has been rife about the event's future with the dates for next year still not confirmed.

A spokeswoman for the event is quoted as saying that the festival is "definitely still happening" and that organisers plan to release early bird tickets by the end of the year. She adds, "Our on sales have always shifted between December and end of January and it just depends on when the acts permit us to launch."

Rock Ness which takes place on the scenic banks of Loch Ness, Scotland and is expect to take place for 35,000 fans in June 2013.

Whilst Rock Ness will return, the newspaper reports that local promotor Les Kidger has stated he has no plans to stage any shows in Inverness next summer blaming availability of artists, the logistical challenges and the high cost of hiring the venue for his decision.
