The live stream will be available on the festival's official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/bestivaltv) across all internet-connected devices and it will cover both the Main Stage and Big Top from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th September. Once Bestival comes to a close, individual songs from acts will be available on-demand for the next 90 days on the Bestival YouTube channel.

Patrick Walker, Senior Director of YouTube Music, Europe, Middle East & Africa said, "As the premiere destination for music lovers worldwide, YouTube has been working hard to expand our offering of live gigs and festivals to satisfy the hunger for great original content. We're delighted to announce a partnership with Bestival, whose dream line-up of musicians including Florence + the Machine, The xx, Emeli Sande and New Order, will now be made available to anyone, anywhere with an Internet connection."

Bestival boss Rob da Bank commented, "I've been watching festivals such as Coachella and Tomorrowland on YouTube and loving the futuristic new angle on showing festivals in a different light via a medium that nearly everyone in the music and festival worlds is tuned into. We're really pleased that Bestival is the first UK festival to go down this route."

Ben Turner, a Director at Bestival added, "Following our pioneering coverage in 3D last year, Bestival is proud to now be the first UK festival to live stream to YouTube. This type of music and festival is being under-served by mainstream TV in the UK, and we believe that it's an important step forward for music coverage overall. We also believe this approach is reflective of how today's audiences want to consume music at home."

Perhaps if it's another wet weekend, and this idea catches on, Bestival won't sell out next year, with more people forgoing their wellies, and their wallets, to watch the event from the comfort of their armchairs.

Bestival happening at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from Thursday 6th until Sunday 9th September 2012 has over 20 stages of live music from more than 300 bands alongside a wealth of hidden treasures peppered across the site. From the old world southern American charms of the Swamp Shack and the magical aura of the Wishing Tree, to the mayhem of the Wall of Death and the rush of the Roller Disco.

New Order will headline Saturday, with Stevie Wonder headlining the Sunday. Also performing are Orbital, The xx, Sigur Ros, Justice, Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, Friendly Fires, Death In Vegas, Nero, The Horrors, Gary Numan, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience feat Al McKay, Rizzle Kicks, and many more.
