Tom Jones leads the first acts announced for London Live's series of free day shows in Hyde Park this summer celebrating the London Olympics.

The free to access days will kick off with a performance in Hyde Park by the singer, and The Voice judge Tom Jones who will be on the main stage on Saturday 28 July 2012 at BT London Live.

The line-up of other FREE to view acts announced today include The Cast of 'We Will Rock You', Feeder, Dodgy, Levellers, Cast, Amy Macdonald, Paul Carrack, and Kenny Thomas.

From Friday 28th July to Saturday 11th August Hyde Park will offer Free entry to view the Olympic Games via a series of large screens, including the UK's largest. The live BBC coverage will include the Olympic medal events; with cultural entertainment and live music also on offer. London Live in Hyde Park will be free to access and play host to fun sports activities, top class music, entertainment and more – and all for FREE.

BT London Live has something for everyone, from a variety of different live music acts to watching the 100 metres final on a 160m2 screen, the 55m high BT Observation Wheel giving views of the Olympic Park, amazing outdoor spectacles, have-a-go sports, bungee trampolining, Zip Lines and Zorbing, plus al-fresco Sports Bars and much more.

Families with kids looking to try out new sports, Londoners wanting to catch up with the Games after a long day at work, or groups of friends wishing to catch their favourite music acts live – BT London Live will be the place to be in London during the Games.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "BT London Live is a fantastic way for hundreds of thousands of people to experience all the excitement and live action of the Games for free, and for those inspired by their Olympic and Paralympic heroes to try out different sports. We're planning an unprecedented number of events in every part of the capital and, combined with terrific entertainment at these three iconic locations, it really will be a summer like no other."

London Live also includes paid for events including the concert that will coincide with the Olympics opening ceremony, which will be broadcast on big screens in the park in between performances. The gig has been organised by BT London Live as part of a series of events to mark the Games and takes place on Friday 27th July. Together with 'Best Of British' coinciding with the closing ceremony it is the only other paid for ticketed event as part of London Live which sees FREE live music from acts from across the world taking to the stage each night until midnight each evening (Trafalgar Square will run until 11pm).

Access to BT London Live Hyde Park and Victoria Park will be FREE, attendees can just walk up and join the fun. There will be a limited number of Guaranteed Entry Tickets available from tomorrow, Wednesday 16th May for those who wish to ensure they don't miss out on a particular day or their favourite sport. Pre-booked tickets for BT London Live will provide guaranteed entry before 2pm. After 2pm, entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, but due to likely demand, this may be subject to long queueing times.
