The line-up will see acts from all four host nations of the UK, with Duran Duran representing England, Snow Patrol representing Northern Ireland, Stereophonics representing Wales, and Paolo Nutini representing Scotland.

Simon Le Bon, lead singer of Duran Duran, said, "Performing to so many people on the most exciting day in sport for Great Britain will be one of the highlights of the last decade for us. We have been invited to represent England for this Team GB show, and we couldn't be more proud. Seeing the torch being lit on the big screens before hitting the stage in this iconic location will be a great experience... we simply can't wait."

The concert will coincide with the Olympics opening ceremony, which will be broadcast on big screens in the park in between performances. The gig has been organised by BT London Live as part of a series of events to mark the Games and takes place on Friday 27th July. Together with 'Best Of British' coinciding with the closing ceremony it is the only other paid for ticketed event as part of London Live which sees FREE live music from acts from across the world taking to the stage each night until midnight each evening (Trafalgar Square will run until 11pm).

BT, Live Nation, the Mayor of London, The Royal Parks and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets have come together to present BT London Live, a huge celebration of sport, music and other entertainment in Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square this summer as part of the city's London 2012 celebrations.

Access on the other days to the BT London Live Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square is free and you can just turn up to get in (subject to capacity), or you can guarantee early entry to the sites at Hyde Park and Victoria Park before 2pm by booking in advance.

Tickets to the Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert will go on sale at 9am on Friday 4th May, priced at £60, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
