New York '212' singer Azealia Banks has announced she has cancelled all her June, July and August summer festival dates.

Despite her well received breakthrough performance at Coachella Festival in April, a decision has been made by her new management that she needs to get back into the studio and invest more time on her forthcoming debut album 'Broke With Expensive Taste'.

The American rapper, currently one of the most played artists on Spotify, was due to perform at Rock Ness, Rough Beats, Parklife, Lovebox, Wakestock, and Europan festivals including Rock am Ring, Rock Werchter, Main Square Festival, and Way Out West.

It is confirmed that her appearances at Reading/Leeds, Bestival, and BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend are unaffected.

The cancellation includes her first festival headlining show at Rough Beats Festival the independent music festival will be taking place from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012 returning to Crina Bottom Farm, Clapham, in North Yorkshire.

Rough Beats festival organiser, Mike McSherry comments, "Obviously we're gutted that a really exciting new artist like Azealia has cancelled her headlining slot at Rough Beats. It would have been her first major headlining show in the UK and we were pretty chuffed about getting in there early and backing her to be a great act even before her debut releases. However, I think her management have made the right decision. As great as her Coachella performance was, the UK audience is going to need more than half hour of material from a headliner. There's no doubt that her UK tour in the Autumn will be brilliant and when she's a bonafide megastar this time next year, maybe we'll be able to persuade her back to the NY of the UK."

Other acts playing at the three days Rough Beats Festival in Yorkshire are ruff Rhys, Pulled Apart By Horses, Django Django, Francois And The Atlas Mountains, Mahala Rai Banda, Craig Charles, le KKC Orchestra, Nelski, Rise Kagona (Bhundu Boys) and lots more.

McSherry added, "By any measure, we've got one of the most exciting, credible and fun festival line-ups this summer and we're now working on replacing Azealia Banks with an equally great act. We'd strongly recommend anyone planning to come to the festival to buy their ticket before the beginning of May or risk missing out."
